Emergency Assistance Details
Emergency assistance provides grant funding to support eligible students at risk of dropping out of college due to an unexpected financial emergency. Emergency assistance is intended as a one-time award per academic year for unforeseeable emergency situations. Eligible expenses include housing/rent, 照顾孩子, 食品/餐, 气体, medical/dental expenses, personal automobile expenses, public transportation/bus pass and utilities.
Award grants of up to $750 to eligible students experiencing a financial emergency—defined as an unforeseen expense that, if not resolved quickly, could lead to the student’s departure from the college and a loss of momentum toward completion. To be eligible for Emergency assistance, students should:
- Create an account using their ‘school email’ (firstname.lastname@go.明尼苏达州.edu) 梁门户. Check school email messages and verify your account.
- 登录Beam to complete an application. Be as descriptive of your situation as possible to help the review team get a complete understanding of your situation. Upload any supporting documentation of expenses or estimates that demonstrate the need for assistance. Eligible expenses include but are not limited to:
- 住房 (eviction notice, mortgage foreclosure, past due, etc.)
- Transportation (vehicle repair estimate, etc., cannot assist with purchasing another vehicle.)
- 食物
- 医疗/牙科
- Childcare (bill/statement from provider)
- Be enrolled in courses for the academic term in which the Emergency Assistance grant is awarded.
- Be a degree-seeking student and meet your institution’s satisfactory academic progress requirements as of the date of the award. (e.g. 不 on academic suspension of any kind.) Please visit the link to the institution's policy on satisfactory academic progress.

Expenses that are 不 eligible are expected school expenses such as parking, 罚款, 费用, 学费, 书, 移动PC, 移动PC/computer equipment, course supplies and program required tools/equipment.
学生是 不 Eligible for M State Emergency Assistance:
• Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) or concurrent enrollment students;
• 学生是 concurrently enrolled at another institution and M State is not the home institution (i.e. consortium students);
• 学生 (who are M State employees and not dependents) who have their 学费 paid via employee waiver through 明尼苏达州 Colleges and Universities.
